Dear Overwhelmed Woman- Have You Lost Your Curiosity?

Hi there,

Hope your day is going well! This scripture has been in my mind since last week…

“Then He said, ‘I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.’” — Matthew 18:3 (NLT)

This is not just a warning—it’s an invitation.

Christ is inviting you into childlikeness… not childishness, but a way of living that is open, trusting, curious, and free.

Are you living like an overwhelmed woman? Many of us are! We are not experiencing joy or purpose—not because God is withholding it—but because we’ve become rigid. Everything is black or white. Structured. Guarded. We don’t ask for help. We don’t stay op en. We don’t even ask “why?” anymore—we just push through, shut down, or carry on like nothing is happening. That rigidity often leads to legalism—living by rules, pressure, and performance. But God calls us into grace—a space of receiving, trust, and relationship - like children do.

Children live differently. They ask questions. They stay curious. They feel, and then they move forward. They trust they are cared for. I remember my daughter always asking, “But why?” when she was little. At the time, it felt like too much. But looking back, it was her curiosity—her openness to understand what life was presenting to her.

Most of us have lost that. Instead, we live serious, structured lives—emotionally and physically exhausted—while our hearts quietly crumble under the weight of it all. And yet, the Kingdom of God is not just something we wait for in heaven. It is available here. It is a life marked by:

  • peace in the midst of chaos

  • joy despite circumstances

  • the deep knowing that you are loved and cared for

  • the ability to keep going without losing yourself

This is what it means to live childlike. To trust God. To ask Him questions. To receive what He says.

To choose joy—even when life is hard.

Scripture constantly reminds us who we are and God's promises to us:

  • “You are fearfully and wonderfully made.” → Psalm 139:14

  • “Joy is your strength.” → Nehemiah 8:10

  • “The Lord is your Shepherd—you are not alone.” → Psalm 23:1

  • “You are part of a royal priesthood.” → 1 Peter 2:9

So why live defeated? Are you still trying to live life on your own terms… or are you ready to surrender and step into the freedom God is offering? If you’re finding it hard to let go of control, to soften, or to truly trust again—you don’t have to navigate that alone. And you don’t have to stay in survival mode just because you’ve learned how to function there. For once… allow yourself to stop striving. Allow yourself to lay it down. Allow yourself to rest in Jesus—not just in words, but in how you live, how you trust, and how you let Him carry what you were never meant to hold.

Does this describe you? If you’re ready to walk through this with someone, you’re invited to book a session with me. We’ll take it one step at a time—gently, honestly, and in a way that helps you truly come back to yourself when you’re ready.

With love and care,

Ayo
